Another midweek break from painting zeds..

Here's the "group shot" of the woods that I promised Bryan. I can't call them 'finished' until I get another six trees and base them up so I can use all six bases as dense woods - for now there are four grassy inserts and two rocks (stones from the garden) in among the trees.
The Blotz skip is painted up and added to the scatter terrain box..........
..... as are the 'boxes & benches', though I've only shown one of each here.
To my shame, I still haven't started the TTCombat bus shelter, but I have finally thrown some paint at one set of the barriers from the Walking Dead All Out War terrain booster!
Brad and his group have been holed up at Campbell's farm for the best part of a week now.
Apart from the occasional wandering zed it's all been quiet, but on a couple of nights  they've heard the sound of small arms fire away in the distance from the direction of Wichita Falls. This prompted the decision to fortify their position as much as possible by using tools and material they collected from around the farm.
With the new defences in place, Brad feels confident enough to split the group and is planning to lead a scavenging / recconaissance  party out from the farm.

Just to "round off" this post (since we started with trees), here's a lone tree on its new 40mm round base, MUCH more stable than the molded bases!

So, that wraps up the news for now, a combination of work and the Zomtober challenge have taken up the rest of the time so I'm getting "gaming withdrawal symptoms" - I'm hoping to get a fix soon!

  1. There is much to enjoy here, Greg. The group shot of your trees is most impressive. I have a load of trees all individually based. Perhaps I should think of grouping them together.
The street furniture looks great. It is stuff like this that helps bring a game to life.
Fortifying the farm seems like a prudent move. I do hope you can get in some more ATZ gaming soon.

    1. Thanks Bryan, the woods bases are mostly for the kind of rules which require specific limits for terrain features - I need to do a couple of town / village pieces soon.
As an ex-squaddie, I thought it would be in Brad's nature to improve the defences, and trust me, I'm hoping to get the ATZ campaign moving asap ;-)

  2. Great stuff! I love to see terrain posts, the bins, benches and the mailbox are brilliant - especially the paint job on the garbage bin!

    1. Thank you Ivor - I'd agree that they're brilliant kits, but I'd say the paintwork is "passable" ;-)
I'm looking forward to having enough variety of 'scatter terrain' to be able to just grab appropriate bits when they're needed........ of course, the pesky mini's and buildings need painting first!

  3. So much nice eye-candy, what's not to like ?
The promise of more zed action is also very welcome.

  4. Very nice! I am doing something similar this week. Picked up the KS Edition last weekend which has spurred me on to getting finished some barricades I had lurking for far to long.

    1. Thanks Simon - the All Out War kickstarter looks VERY tasty! I'm extremely jealous!
Since there's two of each barrier in the booster, I figured that a "speed paint" on one set would be OK, just to get 'em on the table. I primed with a matte black rattle can, dry brushed the main colours, picked out a few details and then gave 'em a wash with AP Strong Tone. Super quick and easy :-)

  5. Nice work on the terrain. A good eclectic mix of stuff is always useful. :)

    1. If by "eclectic mix" you mean "magpie mentality", I raise my hand - guilty as charged ;-)

  6. What a wonderful posting, Wargame Addict. Lots to see and admire here, and inspire too. I like the idea of a farm, and definitely more "ATZ" - you've fast become one of my go to Zed sites :-)

    1. Thanks Simon, but if that's the case, I'd better up my game!

    1. I must thank you again for the tip off about the Blotz stuff Andy, and would recommend them 100% :-)
I'll be getting my bus shelter out of its packet soon (I hope).

    1. Thanks Fred, the Zomtober challenge has prompted me to change my modelling habits to "a little and often" - what happens when we reach the end of the month is anyone's guess ;-)

  9. Seeing that tractor has now got me thinking about the effectiveness of combine harvesters used as weapons against a swarm of zombies. I don't suppose it would work too well unless modified. Pity that, as it would probably be worth a laugh seeing it mow down a 'crop' of wandering Zee's in a field.

  10. Whether it would work or not is irrelevant - just the thought is priceless! :-)
Cheers Roy, you've brightened an otherwise fairly drab day!
Now, what else around the farm WOULD work???????
