The finale of this years Zomtober event, and I almost missed it!
Things have been absolutely bonkers work-wise, and on top of that my back has really been giving me some gip. Yesterday I had some time to paint, but due to bad planning there wasn't an unpainted zombie in the house! (yeah, I know that's hard to believe innit?!). However this morning, perhaps because of the clocks going back, I remembered I had just one mini that kinda fit the criteria and at 10am I slapped some primer on it. I had a deadline of "noon" before packing up and getting ready to set off for Gravesend where we're appropriately doing a 'Halloween' theme night gig, so this really was an exercise in speed painting.
Best described as Not my Best work, I'm still jubilant that she's completely finished and avoids either a "no-show" or at best a "late entry" to round off the annual challenge, may I present........
Madame Boniface
Part of the Dark Czar's entourage, She (he?!) is another addition to the Napoleonique collection (Flintloque miniatures, but destined for use with a different set of rules), and definitely "not yer regular kinda zombie" which has been my theme for this year.
Many thanks for droppng by, and hearty congratulations to everyone who took part in the Zomtober painting challenge this year.

Zomtober 2019 Week Three
Another week has just flown by, and it should have been a more productive seven days than it has been! Unfortunately I put my back out Tuesday (aggravated an old rugby injury while gardening), so things didn't quite go to plan.
I was determined to get a Zomtober entry done though, so with gritted teeth I set about this squad of Zombieski Line Infantry.
They've been sitting on the lead pile for ages, and getting them done has provided the motivation to get some more "Napoleonique" minis painted before winter starts to bite - the ideal time to play some 'Dark Czar' scenarios!!
Many thanks for visiting, and please make sure you check out everyone else's Zomtober progress by visiting the links below:~

Zomtober 2019 Week Two
Phew! Only just made it in time by the skin of my teeth - or, given the theme, maybe that should be "by the putrid flesh hanging off my rotting mandibles!"
I knew in advance that I'd have precious little free time this past week (apologies to everyone for neither commenting on your entries, nor replying to your comments - I'll be playing "catch-up" over the next few days!!), so I deliberately chose a 'splash & dash' candidate for this post.
A while ago I managed to acquire a small job-lot of 'Magic The Gathering - Arena of the Planeswalkers' starter sets, and this mini is the "Ghoul Vanguard" and is classed as a "Hero Creature - Zombie"
I used a razor saw to remove him from his oversized base and glued him to a standard 25mm round skirmish base before throwing some pigment in his general direction! (Not just because I was in a rush, but also the rather poor sculpt didn't really warrant an investment of time or effort)
So, another off beat Zed added to the horde and though he's destined for the fantasy collection, he might appear in an ATZ game as a Cos Player who met his demise during the zombie apocalypse while wearing his outfit at a convention!!

Zomtober 2019 Week One
It really is amazing just how fast time flies! The fact is though, just as there are 'negative' effects caused by Tempus Fugiting (like weeks - nay, months slipping by without a blog update!), there's also 'positive' happenstances like the annual blog community event that is "Zomtober" (which is great for providing the initiative and inspiration to get something painted and posted!!)
For anyone unfamiliar with the event, the aim is to paint at least one zombie related miniature (a zombie or a zombie apocalypse survivor) and post the results of your labour on the Sunday of each week through the month of October.
There's a list of participating bloggers at the bottom of this post
Last year I painted the drocolich "Gravestorm" from the D&D Castle Ravenloft boardgame, and decided to use the actual Zombie Dragon from that game as my first entry for this year.
I'll be honest and admit that the choice was driven by how quickly I'd be able to get the beast done to a 'gaming standard' and make sure I got the ball rolling on time!
So, there we have it - Zomtober is underway, season 10 of The Walking Dead is about to start, and the Halloween themed party gigs are fast approaching. Have a spooktacular time everyone, and please make sure you check out the links below:~
